Submission Preparation Checklist
As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
- The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
- The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, or RTF document file format.
- Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
- The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
- The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.
Author Guidelines
Information for authors
The editorial board of the journal accepts for publication materials in Kazakh, Russian and English languages, containing the results of research on topical issues of geographical science both in Kazakhstan and in the world. Materials that do not correspond to the subject matter are not accepted for consideration.
Articles, designed per the requirements (article requirements), are accepted by the editorial office through the online system of submission and review of articles at https://ojs.ingeo.kz/.
Materials of scientific articles received by the editorial office of the journal are subject to the procedure of primary review by the editorial office of the journal for compliance with the subject of the journal, requirements and rules of design, as well as checked for the presence of illegal borrowings (plagiarism) through the system https://ingeo.kz.antiplagiat.com/.
In case of non-compliance with the requirements and design rules, the materials are sent to the authors for revision. In case of detection of illegal borrowings, the editorial board has the right to reject the materials, notifying the author.
Materials that have passed the initial check are accepted for consideration and sent for review.
The editorial board of the journal conducts double "blind" reviewing of scientific articles (both the author and the reviewer remain anonymous) in order to ensure the quality of publications, correctness and reliability of the presentation of research results. All materials submitted for publication in the journal are subject to review.
Reviewers are appointed by the Deputy Editor-in-Chief and are leading experts in the relevant field of research. Reviewers adhere to the requirements of ethics of scientific publications, are objective and unbiased.
The reviewer evaluates the article on the relevance of the topic and scientific novelty, the appropriateness of the methods used by the authors, the reliability of the results obtained, as well as its structure and style of presentation. All comments and wishes to the article are formalized in the review.
If the comments made by the reviewer are correctable, the article is sent to the authors for revision for a certain period of time. The Editorial Board of the Journal reserves the right to refuse to publish materials to the authors who left the reviewer's remarks without attention.

Terms of reviewing in each individual case are determined taking into account the order of preparation of issues of the journal and on average are 2-3 weeks.
After receiving a positive review, the editorial board makes a final decision on the publication of the materials of the scientific article and sends a letter to the authors to the e-mail address with confirmation of the acceptance of the article for publication and the terms of publication. In case of rejection of the article by the editorial board, the authors are sent a letter to the e-mail address with the reason for rejection. Materials received by the editorial board are not returned to the authors.
Before publication, all articles undergo mandatory literary and technical editing. The editorial board may not agree with the authors on literary or technical correction of articles. The editorial board does not enter into discussions with the authors of the articles.
Requirements for the design of the article
The volume of the article with all structural elements should not exceed 15 pages. The minimum length of the article is 6 pages (excluding abstract, keywords and reference list). The file name in the electronic version of the article should consist of the surname and initials of the author and the first co-author in English and the word article (Petrov A.K._article.doc). The number of authors is not more than 4 persons.
The text should be submitted in Microsoft Word (*.doc, *.docx), A4 format, portrait orientation. Margins: top and bottom - 2.4 cm, right and left - 2.2 cm. Font - Times New Roman, size (font size) - 12. Width alignment, single line spacing, paragraph indent - 1.25 cm. Pages are numbered. Automatic hyphenation of words is not allowed. Italicized and bold type is allowed, as well as the insertion of special symbols into the text (using Symbol fonts). O (letter) and 0 (zero), hyphen (-) and dash (-) should be clearly distinguished in the text.
Figures: any graphic materials (drawings, maps, charts, diagrams) should be of good resolution and labeled "Figure" and numbered with Arabic numerals. The designation is placed below the figure on the next line in the center and is written with a dash.

Tables: are labeled with the word "Table" and numbered with Arabic numerals. The designation and serial number of the table is placed in front of the table and aligned on the left edge.

Formulas are executed in the formula editor Microsoft Word Equation, version 3.0 and below.
Article structure
- IRSTI code (size 14, left-alignment) can be found at https://grnti.ru/.
- Surnames and initials of the authors (size 14, lowercase letters, bold, center alignment).
- Academic degree, academic title, position, place of work (size 12, lowercase letters, center alignment).
- The title of the article (size 14, capital letters, bold, center alignment) should be brief and specific, reflect the content of the article.
- The abstract (size 10, lowercase letters, width alignment) (250-300 words) should reflect a brief summary of the article (problem, relevance, methods used, conclusions, possibility of use).
- Keywords (size 10, lowercase letters, width alignment), 5-7 words reflecting the content of the article.
- Introduction. Contains the justification of the choice of the topic of the article, its relevance and purpose of the study, description of the existing experience of studying this topic, definition of the object, subject, methods and approaches, significance and novelty of this work.
- Materials and research methods. This section contains a description of materials, their qualitative and quantitative characteristics, the course of work, a detailed description of the methods used.
- Results and their discussion. The results obtained by the authors within the framework of the research described in the article are described. The analysis and discussion of the results obtained, conclusions on the results obtained, their comparison with previous works, the main essence of the study is disclosed.
- Conclusion or conclusions. This section provides a generalization and summarization of the work, the main conclusions and confirmation of the results obtained. It is necessary to indicate the possibility of practical application of the results obtained.
- Acknowledgements and funding (if available).
- The list of literature should consist of at least 10 sources, arranged according to GOST 7.1.-2003 " Bibliographic record. Bibliographic description. General requirements and rules of compilation.", adopted by the Interstate Council for Standardization, Metrology and Certification (Protocol № 12 of July 2, 2003). Self-citation should not exceed 20% of the total number of references. References should be numbered in the order of appearance in the text, listed at the end of the article and translated. References within the text are indicated in square brackets.
